Thanks guys... I imagine it'll be a dolly we get, there's a small rental shop just up the road from me and he's got one. A question about the dollies though: Are you supposed to leave the steering wheel unlocked? I towed one of my Berettas on a dolly one time and when I went to make a left turn onto another road I heard a snap and it had broken the steering lock, never locked again after that haha... This was with the wheel locked of course, and the swivel part of the dolly well, swiveling...

Oh, and what size are the driveshaft clamp bolts? 12mm or 13? I'll just take a bunch of wrenches with me anyways

Just tie the seatbelt to the steering wheel. If your wheel bearing is toast i don't think you want that wheel turning on the pave behind any vehicle....or in front for that matter . There has to be a guy with a flat bed out your way . Can't charge that much ...how far from home is your truck ?

Well its a front wheel bearing that went, and it would be off the ground with a dolly so I'm not worried about that really..... The truck is only about 20 kms or so away from home, but since I live out in a small town in the country, all the tow trucks are about 45 mins to an hour away in Fredericton so it would cost me a small fortune to get it towed I imagine. The guy with the dolly is about 4 houses down from me

Wow ...no tow truck in town...I thought I lived in a small town . Good luck, I know the front drive shaft bolts are 3/8 on the clamps and 5/8 on the flange . Not sure about the Rear .

If you are using a dolly for the front, just put the TC in neutral and tow the damn thing. No need to remove the drive shaft.

Well, I got er landed home. We went out with the dolly to get it and of course, the truck is about an inch or 2 too wide for the dolly.... So we ended up tracking down a car trailer and got it home that way.

So I got it in the garage and took it apart.... The whole assembly broke right in 2, as soon as I got the caliper and axle nut off the whole outer part fell off in my hands! I've never saw a wheelbearing fail so catastrophically ever, without even giving me any warning.... It was never noisy, which usually is the first sign of a wheelbearing goin bad. Of course the warranty ran out on it a couple months ago, but I'm gonna take the whole thing in with me to show them, maybe they'll replace it anyway (doubt it)... Ruined the u joint too, and broke the grease fitting right off it......

Anyways, pics:
(cell phone quality, sorry)

shakin a leg lol

The outer half of the hub that fell off in my hands....

inner part still on the knuckle

I thought this looked a little odd.... The race failed and broke away in pieces. This is the back side of the inner bearing race
