Default 3/4T diff with 1/2T Axles

If i took the rear end out of a 2500 and put it into my 1500, taking into consideration the gear ratio, could i slide my 5 bolt axles into that gear set?

no the spline count is different with the shafts.......IIRC the D60 (2500) is a 29 spline, and the 9.25 (1500) is a 32 spline....or vise versa.

Not to mention the Dana 60/70/80 in the rear of the HD 2500 rigs are full float axles, where our 9.25 is a c-clip.

So the answer is a "hell no".

What 2500 rear end did you put in? If its an 8-lug Chrysler 9.25 HD there is a chance that your axle shafts would go in. The HD has larger bearings though so I am not sure if the inner race is the same diameter between HD and standard axles.

Do a search and some info should come up. I think there is info about this in the FAQ's also. I have beat this topic to death and do not feel like explaining again. They do exist as a production axle for LD 2500's and fullsize vans but were not the most common.
