Default Front Bumper Cap Fade - Cure?

.
Just wondering the best way to return our front bumper's top cap back to it's original black color. Ours is extremely faded to point of creating a funky drip effect. The wife is against painting it, but if it's the only way...

hmmm

Id buy a new one that looks pretty bad. I have seen people paint them only to peel off in a few months. Then it looks even worse.

How much is a new one. I think yours is beyond saving.

What about the new paint called Fusion? Suppose to bond to plastics, didnt know if it would do any good or not.

Well, I tried some stuff I have called 'Back to Black'. Seems to work good. We'll have to see how it lasts.

I purchased the Back to Black product by McGuires and have used it on my mirrors. I applied it once a week for three weeks and have not had to apply it since, that was two months ago. This product is cheap and works very well.

Back to Black is supposed to work really well and is good long term (from what I've heard on other forums), let us know how it does on your bumper...

This is gonna sound really stupid and I promise im not on crack or anything. A good thing to use on faded plastic parts is peanut butter. Yes I said peanut butter. I thought the guy that told me this was crazy but it works. The peanut oil in it helps to restore the color while the cream pulls away all the dirt. It will also get any of the white wax residue that accidentally got on the plastic from your last wax job. Like I said, it sounds crazy, but it works.
