Default Tire Pressure

Looking for opinions on tire pressure, 2001 Ram 2500 quad cab 4wd running Firestone Destination A/T, max pressure per sidewall 80 psi. I had the tires rotated once at local tire shop they recommeded 50-55 psi claiming better ride and won't wear out center tread as quick. Door sticker for 245/75/16 is 65 front and 80 rear. I running 285/75/16's. The truck is wandering as did my old 97, also I do run an 8' meyer plow in the winter. Should I stick to the mfg. recommendation. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

The numbers on the sticker are for when fully loaded. I also have a 3/4 ton, and I run my pressures at 50/60. Rides MUCH nicer that way. (well, as compared to having the tires feel like they are solid concrete......)

When you have the plow on the front, run 65 in the fronts.
