Default Styrofoam for the A/C Evap. core??

So I am completing the dreaded heater core/AC evap core replacement. When I split the heater box I noticed the evap core had a super thin styrofoam shell on the bottom side. Does this need to be replaced?

What does it look like? Is it still in one piece? It is probably just to keep the core from rattling around in its mounts...... if it still looks like it will do the job, leave it. If it is all screwed up, see if you can find something similar to replace it.
