Shift linkege
Ok in one of my early posts, I said that my 4x4 1500, floor shifter is stuck in the full forward postion, will click one back which should be neutral but is not,
I got ahold of the guy that install the lift for my firend, befor I bought it, the truck has a 4 body and 4 in suspension lift, and he stated the the linkage was not adjusted when he did it, anyone agree that this could be the problem, if so how do i adjust it properly.

They changed the shift patterns on those at some point, but, I don't recall when it was. On mine, all the way forward is 2 Hi. One click back, is 4 Hi. Two back is neutral, and then the last stop is 4 Lo.
The body lift is the problem. There is a bolt on the linkage under the truck that allows you to adjust it. My suggestion is to loosen the bolt and free the shaft. Then move the shifter in the truck to one of the extremes (4low or 4high) and manually shift t-case to the same postion and tighten adjusting bolt. Try shifting to every range and make sure the t-case engages in every range. This procedure will most likely require tweaking but should get you close. With the body lift you may have to extend the shaft or make a new one.
When dodge changed the interior in '98 they changed the shift pattern.
