Default wheel sizing

I have 97 ram 1500 with 7 inch lift. I am putting 37x1250x15 tires on because they cam off my jeep. I am buying new wheels and would like to know the offset/backspace that will keep as much tire under the wheel well as possible. Can anyone help?

I don't have a stock rim handy, but I'm guessing there's about 3.5 or 4 inches of back spacing. If you are going to increase the width to a 10 inch rim, just look for a rim with the most backspace. If you go with a 8 inch rim (tire will look tall and skinny) just go with the stock backspace and you'll be fine.

More info is needed from you before anyone can help, are you going 8" 9" 10" 12" wide rims? stock is 5" back spacing and your 37s will rub the control arms with that back spacing. Look for a rim with 4" back spacing. Not even sure if you can use a 15" rim without doing some grinding first.

15x10 rim. I am being told to use a 3.5 to 4" back space. Does anyone know if this is the best backspace to keep the most tire under the fender without rubbing?

12.5s will stick out some. Trouble with keeping more of the tire under the fender is, doing so is going to assure you that you will rub on turns. The less backspacing you have, the less you are going to be able to turn, before the tire hits the control arms.
