hmmm.....tips or suggestions.....i would suggest that in cases other than my own, since my truck already had the lift in it.....that i would also swap in the 3" leaf springs and shackles ect ect, bc getting the old perches off and getting them rewelded where i needed them was the biggest nightmare, as you could imagine, specially to get the proper pinion angle.
Also i had to buy a new yoke for the rear. i didnt wanna have a new driveshaft made just yet bc i want to get the slip yoke elimater kit, so i needed to find a combo joint for the rear that would allow for my 1500 shaft to bolt to my dana 60 yoke. the yoke that was on the dana 60 orinionally, they didnt make a combo joint for, so i had to have a special one ordered ( $45 ), so i could run the combo joint. As far as the front shaft, Napa had a combo joint right in stock for me.
i did a U bolt flip kit on the rear axle so that the u bolt studs now face up so when im in the woods their not dragging on rocks. that was all pretty easy, i couldnt come across a plate to put on the top of my leaf springs so i just made one out of 3/8" flat stock 7"x6". i driller a hole in the center for my center pin on the leaf pack, then marked where my other 4 holes would be for my u bolts and drilled them out. pretty easy mod that makes sense to do to a woods truck.
all in all it was a fairly easy swap to do. pretty much remove and replace. other than the rear perches i also replaced all my bushings, sleeves, and bolts on my lift radius arms up front, and i didnt put the limiting straps back on, or my sway bar, or my steering stabilizer for now, until i get the dual shock kit here this week.

its funny you should mention that bc i plan on ripping that front and rear bumper off that truck this spring and building some nice heavy duty ones and installing my warn 12,500 lb winch i have sitting in my garage.
that front bumpe is like that on the pass side bc i wacked a deer with it over the summer

I would highly recommend some limiting straps, otherwise the axle can droop far enough to bind the front drive shaft and reek havoc on the drivetrain/driveline. With the sway bar installed it kinda acts like a limiting strap, but personally I would keep that off and install a strap instead.
i would find a good set of sway bar quick-disconnects and reinstall the sway bar if you use your truck on the highway at all. these dodge have alot of body roll. lol
without the limiting straps your gonna be using your shocks to stop the axel travel, they are gonna go pretty quick if you flex your truck alot.
but with that said i love the truck. i hope to swap to some d60s when i have enough extra $$$ lying around
