ball joint size

Default ball joint size

i just bought upper and lower ball joints today. one is bigger then the other i just wanted to see if this is correct. if so which is the upper and which is the lower.
im sorry if this is a dumb question. i normally let the mechanic pick them up.

Think larger ones are lowers. Are you going to install them yourself?

not sure but ive never bought them before or done the replacement. i just wanted to confirm that the guy at the parts store gave me the right parts. for some reason i thought they were the same size, but i wouldnt know. i want to check with people who have done this before.

look up the part number at an online parts site like Rockauto, Autozone, Advance, Napa, etc and check the part numbers. The site will have the description which will tell you the upper or lower or left or right or whatever.
