Default Check eng light/ABS

So i have another fun problem to try and solve. The abs/brake lights on the dash alternate with a check engine light. That is to say that the check engine light is usually on because of a vac leak i believe i dont remember what exactly the code was but i thought i remember it being that anyway the check engine light is on then if i throw it in 4wd the engine light turns off and the brake/abs lights come on. I am puzzled as to what this could even be. I dont think the vac leak is big because the CAD never has a problem engaging and the breaks have good pressure too? Anyone have any clues?

I am kinda curious why the CEL would go off when you put it in 4wd.... Not like the computer even knows what you are doing with the expensive stick, it doesn't monitor that. Might have something to do with the additional vacuum draw until the front axle engages. Wonder if you have a leak in the actuator on the disengage side?

Do you have 4 wheel abs? or just RWAL?

Just RWAL. Ya i will have to check next time i find some free time. I have never noticed any lack in performance and the RAWL still works with the light on so not a problem for me just a curiosity thing.

Your RWAL Works? Amazing. My light isn't on, and RWAL isn't worth a hill of beans.

haha well either that or i need to replace the rear shoes. But i am pretty sure the RWAL works because i can almost stand on my brakes and not lock up.
