Default Caliper Locked up

Short story, I was driving to work this morning (we are in the middle of a small snow storm) and someone pulls out in front of me, so I jam on the brake and the peddle goes all the way to the floor. I pump them back up and the truck is all over the road, can't keep it straight, the front right caliper locked up. All ends well though I managed to put it off to the side of the road without incident. Just seems like there is always some jackass driver that is in a big enough hurry to pull out in front of me when the roads are slick but never break 15mph.

Sounds like you popped a brake line as well...... Need to get the truck somewhere you can work on it and stay warm. The side of the road does NOT qualify. Have a look, and see what all is going on. Need to find out WHY the caliper is locked. Are the pads worn to the point that the piston popped out? If not that, if you crack the bleeder open, does it release? Did the line to the rear brakes blow out? (very common.....)

Had her towed back to the garage. It will probably be a few days before I can take a look at her, but I will let you know what I find out. All the brake lines were replaced about a year ago and brand new pads this past June.

Seized slide pins on one or the other, is a possible cause.
