Default Rear Speaker ?

Hey all,

Im getting **** together to do a budget sound system that sounds pretty good. I will be putting in a 12" Alpine type R, Sony headunit, amping both door speakers and sub. I will be upgrading later on when I find stuff. Kicker dual amp wiring kit, Rockford Fosgate RCA's and speaker wiring on its way. Wiring harness soldered up. Need to build underseat box for rear w/amp rack incorporated.

I got a couple Optimus 260w 4 channel amps for free...I dont think I will use them cause Im pretty sure those are **** amps. I have a Kicker 4 channel tho for my door speakers. Any suggestions for a 500 watt RMS x1 amp thats stable at 4 ohms? Mono or 2 channel...doesnt matter. Rockford Fosgate has one thats 500x1 @ 4 ohm stable bridged, but not sure I want to spend that much. I will keep my eye out on ebay.

Im not sure exactly how big my rear door speakers are? 00 Quad cab with infinity system. I have a set of 4" Kenwood speakers that I was going to make adaptor plates for the rear, but would go with a bigger size. Crutchfield says either 6.5 or 5.25 will fit, but bestbuy.com says a lot wont fit.

Thanks

Can I use some scrap diamond plate for an adaptor plate in the back? I have some scrap laying around. Or, would it be better to just get some 1/2 inch wood?

How do our stock amps do running 2 amps? Im planning to only do one sub, so I might make that same box that someone linked me to, but seal off one side, and use the other side for an amp rack. Looking into getting a 10" sub instead of 12", cause I would rather have some tighter bass and smaller amp.

Thanks

You might want to get a pack of these http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Tri...s_p/a19213.htm
Those 10 year old door panel retainers are probably pretty brittle by now and you will probably have a handful that you can't re-use.
The dealership want's $3.50 each for them and the parts stores don't have the right size for our trucks.
