YES!

My truck 'only' has 165K miles, and I noticed an APPRECIABLE difference in the way it ran, with JUST the timing chain swap. (I don't think the water pump has the much influence..... ) I went with a .25inch double roller timing set.

my younger brother will be starting to mod keggers and throttle bodies, and i wil help him of course cause my cousin got a 01 dakota R/T black extended cab in and will let my bro have it for $3k. Be a great first vehicle so he can run with my indy's. Lucky for him his will much lighter. So for winter break we will be trying out our skills

Check out the plenum, and see if it is indeed blown. Bunch of different ways to check it, from running the test outlined in the TSB (posted in the faq section), to visually inspecting it by removing the throttle body, and peeking around in there with a mirror, and flashlight. If you have a buncha miles on your truck, chances are, it is blown. (unless it was repaired by a previous owner.)

If you have 100K miles, or in that neighborhood, on your truck, replace the water pump, timing chain and gears.... and front crank seal. Not that bad of a job, IF you have a reasonable place to work. (my driveway in sub-freezing temps is NOT a reasonable place..... Didn't get a choice in the matter though. )

I did the kegger mod on my truck in conjunction with the plenum repair. I REALLY REALLY like the way my truck runs now.

No, the timing chain is behind the water pump.
