Default How to "draw vacuum" for a/c system

I replaced the evap core and heater core and I have to recharge the a/c system with refrig. I have read to "draw vacuum for 30 minutes" and charge the system back up.

Is there a link with DIY or tutorial on this. I kinda wanted a detailed set of instructions. My uncle has refrigerant lines/vacuum for residential HVAC, and he says he might be able to do it for the truck, but neither of us have done it before.

Thanks!

It did not show what you need to draw the vacuum in the system. You need a vacuum pump to start with and if the system has been open for 15 minutes or more it needs a new dryer or accumulator or what ever the hell they call it now. Then pump it down for a minimum of 30 minutes, shut pump off check to see it holds vacuum, and then charge it as shown.

+1.... What charlie said. Just take it to an AC shop and have it done correctly. And BTW, you get the clip for the cable yet?
