Default idle air control motor ?

I have a fault for the idle air control motor. My truck idles at about 1500 rpms. I have researched this and I'm going to replaced the motor.

Now my Transmission will not shift gears correctly. Can these to be related in some way or do I have 2 different problems?

ANY HELP?????

Probably not related, but replace the IAC and clean the bore in the TB that it installs into. And don't buy a cheap POS. Get one from the dealer or at the very least a Standard Motor Products brand. Disconnect the negative battery cable before doing so. And what is the problem you are having with the tranny?

Little history......couple of weeks ago I was having problems with not shifting into second I could let off gas and it would shift. Then everything ran normal. I went to ADV auto and got some lucas transmission treatment and problem went away for 2 weeks. Now the last day or so it started doing it again and now I can not get it to shift at all.

Tranny want shift out of first gear.....if I shift it manually I can get it to go into second but thats all I can get it to do?

HELP!

Check the TV cable first. Make sure it is adjusted properly, and that the lever on the trans is returning to the "idle" position when you let off the gas.

Also check fluid level. Gotta check it in Neutral, with everything at normal operating temp. (set the park brake, or block the wheels, so it doesn't run away from you.)

If both of those check out..... do a fluid and filter change, and have a look at the governor pressure sensor, and solenoid. The sometimes get plugged up, and stop working right. (and don't set a code....) While you are in there, adjust the bands.

If none of that helps, you are probably looking at a rebuild.
