if you grind the tab off the thermostat housing or 'neck', you will never have to remove or loosen the accessory bracket again.. when you dig into it to do it the first time, you'll see exactly what I mean.. It's just a little tab that is tabbed under the bracket which forces you to remove the bracket to pull the neck off the manifold..

It's sole purpose is to infuriate you.. and it's effective..
