Default Rotor Button Help ASAP!!!!

I am changing my dist. cap and rotor button. I pulled the old rotor button off and put the new one on, but it does not seem to be "locking" in place like the old one was or is it suppose to slide up and down easy ?

push it all the way down, make sure it seats, and call it good. after they have been on there for a while, they become reluctant to come off.

yep. the spring in the cap will keep it in the right place. After a couple hot/cold cycles, it will also hang on pretty tight.
