Default Cruise control problems

I have a 96 ram 2500 12v cummins, the light for the cruise control comes on, however it doesn't actually do anything when I try to set the speed.

I am thinking it might be a problem with the vacuum system in the truck, I am also having some problems with the brakes due to the vacuum.

Anyone have thoughts or suggestions?

the brake booster is hydraulically fed by the PS pump.

ik the 1500's have a common problem w/ cruise, however i am not sure if the cruise servo is under the battery box, or where it is located. best bet is to find the servo and trace the vac line.

try posting in the cummins diesel section of DF

Okay, thank you. I am new to this site. I found the servo and cant find the vacuum line coming off of it. So most likely not a good sign. LOL
