You really dont need to go any faster than 90, but maybe you live somewhere there is no speed limits.....I would say a tuneup, plenum check/fix and a tuner from Hemifever should help you out on gettin over 90 and also help beat them chevy's and fords
Thanks guys haha I know it's not supposed to be fast but seeing the tailgate of a Bowtie or blue shield ... Kegger mod or m1 and also I know all of the cops and have raced them in my dads barracuda haha I appreciate everyones help even the sarcastic ones ha
I had a 1996 4x4 5.2. It had the mopar PCM and it got to a 90 MPH plateau, even with some mods. I never was at 90 for any extended periods of time, but you get used to 75 MPH pretty quickly. And when you hit a hill, you will creep to 55 MPH if you don't stand on the throttle.
What you need is a plenum fix, I can tell you have that problem. It takes a couple days and about $175.
Put in a 180* thermostat when you do the plenum and get the tuner from HEMIFEVER (PM him on this forum). THat will cost $265 with tunes for 3 octanes.
Then you will need a tuneup. Plugs, cap, rotor, about 40 bucks.
After doing the plenum fix, kegger mod, major tuneup, timing chain and gears, I am STUNNED at how well the truck runs now. Orders of magnitude better than when I first drove it home....... (not to mention the hollow cat, and new O2 sensor......)
^DANG IT HEY YOU!!! Now I wanna go out and replace my timing chain just to see what exactly your talking about...
Keep in mind, my chain was the factory original, and my truck has 165K miles on it... so, it was pretty stretched. For the high mileage engines, I REALLY recommend it. The difference in performance with JUST doing the chain, was amazing.
