cad actuator? or pull cable?
My acctuator doesnt look the best so i am in need to replace it. Its only a plow truck thats it. Ive found a full time lock up, cable pull, or vacuum actuator. In my mind vacuum is junk all the lines on the truck are junk. Im just looking for input on new ones. Or has anyone ever welded one side of the cad to the shaft? Ive heard it done but im not sure about it?
if its JUST a plow truck, get the single passenger side shaft to eliminate the CAD, or tack the collar onto the shafts and remove the vac lines. nothing fancy is needed, the weld wont really be under any stress.
what exactly is wrong with the actuator?
i personally (personally because many guys on DF hate it like you
) like the vac system. simply find the leak and replace the line. mine works perfectly after replacing a vac line.

if its a full time plow truck, i'd disconnect the vacuum line that goes to the t-case, and run a new line from the engine directly to the 4wd side of the cad. this is the cheap fix.
test it by jacking up the front end. spin passenger side tire and verify that drivers side spins one way or the other. doesn't matter which, but that indicates the 2 axle halves are locked together with the collar.
