Default THROTTLE CABLE MOD or REPAIR W/E

I dont know if someone has already posted something about this, so here is what I found on another website. I was reading that over time our throttle cables attached to our gas pedals lose tension and tend to slack.

Sure enough I checked today, I put a rock and press the gas pedal all the way down. Then I looked at the throttle body and sure enough, what was suppose to be WOT was open only a quarter of the way open when the pedal was all the way down.

there was about two inches of slack in the throttle cable I used about 5 or 6 cable ties to tension the cable on the pedal. Now when the pedal is pressed all the way down the throttle is fully open. I got a way better response and smoother down shift for some reason.

I was just posting this so you guys could take a look.

The cable ties hold up, but I want to go ahead and replace it. Do you guys know where I could get a good one for a cheap price?

the easiest would be to take up the slack right at the gas pedal. Get near the pedal and look up under the dash. Pull the pedal forward or towards the seat and there should be some slack there. When you tighten that up it will help open the throttle all the way without bottoming the pedal out sooner. I will post a pic when I get back on campus.
