Default TV cable sticking?

I just did my plenum and when put it back together I noticed the Tv cable was 3/4" past the stud on the TB. Cable was not adjusted, I crawled under to see if the spring was gone on the cable but it was there. I moved the lever by hand and it sticks at 2/3 travel but moves freely after. Could I just put on a stiffer spring to pull it back to closed? Shouldn't hurt anything?

Thanks
Dan

You really don't want to operate the truck with any sticking cables.

The dealership can get you a new one. Its $55-$65 depending on the dealership.

I'm not sure it was the cable sticking or the lever, valve it operates. After removing the spring and moving the lever to wide open by hand, it needed just a little pull to free it. I had to try so 2 small springs back to back gave me just enough pull to make it work and the extra stiffness on the gas pedal is minor. I had been dealing with shift problems in 2-3 gear, now I know why. I drove it a couple miles and shifts fine. This spring the trans will be rebuilt so this should do till then.

Thanks
Dan
