Default Missing on Startup

2000 SLT 1500 - 5.2L Auto

The truck misses for about thirty seconds when you first start it up. It doesnt do it all the time, and is worse when the outside air temp is hot but the engine hasn't been runnin. Any idea what could be causing this?

Default RE: Missing on Startup

when was the last time you
1) cleaned the TB? the IAC may be sticking and causing a lean condition... it's pretty easy to clean it

2) did a tuneup? start with the basics, get a good brass cap & rotor in there and some good wires

3) how is your battery condition? a weak battery can cause some weired things, mine did when it got drained and when I started it, it ran funny and thru some wierd codes. charged it up and it was all good.

4) try this and see if it helps... turn the key on until you hear the fuel pump turn off, then off and on again... maybe your loosing fuel pressure and it's not building up quick enough...

5) could be your coil... they've been known to go bad...

Default RE: Missing on Startup

Cleaned the TB day before yesterday.

Cap and Rotor yesterday.

Battery checks out good, did that the other day too.

Thanks for the other suggestions, will try them.

The truck's not mine its my old man's. Since he is computer illiterate I have to check on stuff for him. I'll tell him and see if it helps. Thanks man.
