Taking the top dash out without breaking it requires you to remove the entire dash so you can unscrew the air ducting from the lower dash.

It is a pain in the ***.

there are screws under the dash that i broke off when i tried that VERY SAME THING. my dash is now in pieces. anyone here know where i can get one online

LMC has them. And if you take the A-pillar trim piece off, you should have enough room to run your cable inside of it. I just put 3 gauges on the A-pillar and had enough room for constant power, switch power, ground, and a 1/4" tubing for the vacuum gauge. I started to take the dash out thinking it would be easier to run the wire, but I didn't want to have my dash in pieces and got it done leaving it in.
