Flushed entire system several times again today. Put all new hoses on and all new coolant(again). Now guess what! No heat, and temp gauge barely will move(doesnt hardly even tough first line). Coolant is luke warm after driving around for 30min.. Somethin is messed up big time i think. its a 195 t-stat and is new... could it have stuck open? Im getting really f-ing tired of this... I want heat, and a truck that i can drive! Head gasket aint blown, and i know the gauge is right since the coolant is hardly warm in the rad, and the upper hose is warmer than the lower so its flowing right?

DOH!!!! Figured out why it didnt gain any heat... I bought a fail safe... When they hit a certain temp they lock in an open position to prevent overheating... f**k... Guess im tossing a new t-stat in tmrw...again lol (and this time a normal one).. I ground down the tab on housing soooo i shouldnt have to remove all the **** i did last time right?

I never got any crap out of my core using water or rad flush...not enough pressure I'm guessing. But I got quite a bit of muddy looking stuff to flush by filling the core with water and then evacuating it with the air compressor. Did this until I stopped seeing goop drip out of my heater hose. Filled with bleach and water and let sit for 20 minutes. I think I would have gotten a better cleaning if it would have been straight and for 2 hours. I don't get roasted out of the cab like I'd like, but I've got heat when the blower is on high instead of luke warm air when on low.

If your heater hoses are not getting hot (after you get the t-stat resolved) it would appear you have a flow issue...inlet or outlet ports restricted... if it's not your pump or core?

Haaaa. I have read your post and know exactly how your feel. I have the exact same problem and did the same thing with the fail safe (which is why I also no longer have the fail safe). I have replaced my water pump, t-stat, water inlet, all hoses, installed a prestone flush T, flushed with CLR, changed the coolant more times than I care to admit, used the Lisle funnel, and still have very little heat. I have given thought to replacing the heater core, but don't want to get into that unless I was some what sure that would fix it. I think I might try looking at the blend door if I can get motivated.
