Default new tires on stock rims

when i bought my truck it had 275x75x17's on it. i since upgraded with new tires and new rims. i might be getting new tires and rims again, but if i can put the new tires on my stock rims, ill see the other rims. my question is will these tires fit on my rims? and/or will i need spacers because of the offset on my stock rims? the new tires are 33x12.5x17. will these fit with out any problem? i have a 2000 1500 w/ the off-road package.

I've got 16" rims on mine... with 265's... had 285's but they rubbed a little bit... I guess we need the back spacing off the new rims to make a recommendation

if the back spacing is different than stock then it will either rub the frame.. or rub the fenders.. depending on which way the back spacing has shifted

He stated they were 33x12.5's.

Those tires should fit fairly well with the stock wheels and the off road package suspension. The only rubbing you will see is on the control arms while turning sharp... which a lift kit will not help prevent from happening.

Personally though, I would go with a little skinnier tire, such as the 285x70x17's I had on olyelr. Looks damn good, and no rubbing!

(sorry I have been whoren' it up with pics of olyelr lately, but I really miss the old girl!)

what about adding spacers? im not sure what the backspacing is on my stock rims. i don't have the extra money right now for new rims, especially new tires. plus i like the ease of maintenance on my stock rims, plus they don't look to bad either.

are those 285x70x17's on your yellow truck? they do look good. my stock rims are the same as yours. i have dick copeck tires on mine with mickey classic II rims now. i got a helluva deal on rims and tires. so i couldn't pass it up. they are mickey thompson baja claw 33x12.50x17. some one offered to buy the rims, so i said ok.

The newer tires are 1.6 inches wider than the current ones. Roughly the same diameter. You might get some rub at full lock, but, that's about it.

Yep, BFG mud terrain KM2's.

Like I was saying before, 12.5" wide tires will rub the control arms with the stock wheels... I have even seen 285's rub with stockers. Wheel spacers will remedy this issue, but they also may cause them to rub on the back portion of the front fenders instead. The rub on the control arm is so minimal, all I did (when I had 12.5 wides) was just not turn the wheel to the max... you get used to it fast.
