Default Couple Questions

First off my heater doesnt blow out hot air more like lukewarm and ac is the same. When i get up to 55 and give it gas the vents switch to defrost so i did research and figured its prob vacuum, BUT my temp gauge seems to be runnig cool like guessing around 175 or something i havent put a 180 thermostat not sure what previous people did but does this have any links to the lukewarm air?

Also po420 keeps coming on for catalyst system blah blah anyways not goingt o get new 02 and cat till i do the plenum but meanwhile can i gut the cat to eliminate the prob temperary or will this cause more problems(i dont have to smog)
thanks

Thermostat is probably failed open.

There seems to be a LOT of heater issues lately... would almost make one think it was winter, or something silly like that. Fix the engine temp problem first, that may solve the luke warm heater. (and, just how warm IS Luke anyway??)

the 420 code means you cat is smoking pot. Oh. wait..... wrong.....

Poor cat efficiency. It isn't smoking pot RIGHT, its wasting it. Oh, wait... wrong.....

Is your cat already gutted? If not, just the rear O2 sensor failing more'n likely. Nothing much to worry about.

Depends on if he is fighting the dark side or not.

At some point, I'd have an exhaust shop test the catalytic converter, make sure its good. If its good, and you are still getting the code for the second O2 sensor, then its just the sensor. Replace it if you want it to go away, otherwise ignore it. Make sure and check the codes regularly if you ignore it, as you don't want to ignore codes for other things if they show up.

Just the opposite, it will never fully warm up. Need to replace the thermostat so the engine will operate most efficiently.

Wont hurt anything if you run it like that for a couple days. Yeah, gas mileage will suck... but, not like you will notice. It sucks anyway.
