I did use the newer retainers, as I had already paid for them and they appeared more heavy duty. Perhaps I just got lucky.

Did you by the truck used....Sounds like someone already did a spring swap.

You are correct, the stock beehives are narrower at the top, and why the stock retainers won't work with the .525 and .600 Mopar Performance springs.

No, I was the only owner. Only had 6 miles on it when I drove it off the lot.

IB678, my cam is P#- HER9204ALN. My sig is the "design" lift after 1.7 ratio. I have room for more lift, not much. I opted for lower duration to keep good vac and somewhat low end torque. The higher than usual lift will gives me a snappy throttle and a fast ramp speed. I live @ a high altitude, so erratic idle and low vac does not suit my motor.

Aim, I had "beehive" progressive rate single springs STOCK on my 5.9. I will try to get a pic up. I wonder if they changed springs through the years? I don't doubt your measurements, just seems like another cool little difference in these damn dodges!

oh man, I'm a dip****.

I completely forgot that I have those aftermarket EQ heads on there! No wonder it wasn't stock.

Forget everything I said. I guess posting on the crapper while you're half awake isn't a good idea....
