Default Truck problems.

Alright, well. I bought the truck used. It has 123k miles on it. (The truck was stolen in the past, treated badly) But, I'm working on it. Anyways, most vehicle you see, you press on the gas, it'll go right then. But on my truck, when I give it gas, there is a slight delay and it doesn't wanna pick up and go as it should. I believe there is a leak in the power steering hose but that shouldn't have anything to do with the problem I'm having. There is a small leak on the transmission filter, but the stick is still on full. I'm replacing the filter Sunday. It seems like it's kind of misfiring when I press on the gas. I'm not real truck savy.

Welcome to DF.

Do a search here for "Plenum". Chances are, yours is blown.

I did look around quite a bit. Could you give me a a link or something more detailed? I've never heard that before, I'm not sure what the purpose is. I'm not losing oil, I don't see any smoke. So, I'm not sure if that's the issue or not. And I don't know how to get into the Plenum.

Edit: My step-father just said that, the problem I'm having is because of the transmission filter. It's been used for a while.. driven badly. So he's saying that all the dirty..metal shaving are clogging it and stuff. So, I'm going to replace the filter tomorrow or something, and if it still acts up I'll let y'all know.

I think I may have misinterpreted what you are saying there. Just to clarify a bit, when you step on the gas, the engine responds, but the trans doesn't?

If that is the case, you might want to look into adjusting the bands when you do the filter in the trans. You can find the procedure in the 01 service manual, available for download in the FAQ section here. Doesn't matter what year your truck is, procedure is the same from 94 to 01.

Also, put your truck info in your sig. (HA Beat Zman to it!)

I was enlightened by Sheriff420 that the 94 46RH trans is indeed different..... 2.5 turns on the front band... and 2 on the rear. If your truck is a 94, please keep that in mind.

Also, if you have a V-6.... that is a different trans, and the adjustments will ALSO be different.
