Which o2 did you replace? Universal or plug-n-play? Which brand? Nothing but NTK plug-n-play here. Identical to oem.

Bosch OEM not universal. and it was the upstream that was throwing the code. No Check engine light anymore.

could also be the coolant temp sensor .the precat o2 is the 1 to replace for that issue also .and you may also have some fouled plugs but that would give a check engine light at some point .

Let me give you some history on this truck. Freshly rebuilt tranny less than 500 miles ago, new water pump about 200 miles ago, o2 sensor and hub assem. less than 75 miles ago. Tune up about 1000 miles ago mid price parts.

the temp sensor can really cause problems if its gone wacky ive seen it plenty of times if all else is good id go with that .if you gan get a scan tool that reads your data check to see if the temp sensor is telling the correct temp to the ecu .there is a coolant gauge sender (single wire connector)and a coolant temp sensor (2 wire connector )at the front of the motor on either side of the thermostat.the 2 wire is the one you want to replace .

other wise you may just have a bad injector dumping lots of gas.

Have you reset the pcm by removing - battery terminal wait 10min. What was the code #? Was the code present b4 or after tranny rebuild? Any other codes? Do you have access to a live data scan tool? or the freeze frame data.

have not reset pcm, had coded cleared by autozone......dont remember the old code but all it pointed to was the upstream o2 sensor; hence the replacement. the code was present b4 the trans rebuild. not sure of the scan the specs.
