Default V10 hesitation problem

The truck:

2001 2500 QC SB 4x4 V10 bone stock.

When I start it and put it in gear, the transmission engages. When I give it gas, it hesitates. Sometimes it even dies. It has backfired a couple times. This has been going on for a couple years, but just recently had the time and money to get it fixed......under warranty. Sometimes you can let it sit for as little as 15 minutes and it will hesitate. Sometimes it doesn't hesitate at all.

Its been to the dealer 3 times. They can't figure it out. They know there is a problem. The parts replaced so far are:

Replaced under warranty:
SENSOR TH
5017479-AA

MODUL KIT
4897666-AF

SENSOR OX
56041943-AA

SENSOR MA
4896131-AA

GSKT PKG
4741732-AC

ORING KIT(10)
5083745-AA

CLEANER C
4318001

Out of my pocket:
CABLE PKG
4796500-AC
$140.00

PLUGS (10)
SP00QC9M-C4
$22.50

I've also had the induction service done. Anyone have any ideas????

thanks

Check your catalytic convertors. On my '99 V-10 I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a plugged cat.

Convertor(s) as mentioned above. But also, they should maybe check the Idle Speed Control (motor). I can't believe they would put a fuel pump in before checking that It could be bad, or just dirty. It's a common problem with Dodges.

I'm having a similar problem right now (I know my convertors aren't plugged, because I don't have any ), and I know it's my idle speed motor. It's just not high on my list of things to fix right now.

Sorry it took so long to answer. Other things going on right now. The dealer here has no clue what is wrong and you can see they replaced a lot of things. I'm just going to take it to the dealer when I get back home. If they can't figure it out, I'm going to talk to a lawyer.

The service guy told me to run a tank of premium through it. First off, it would have been expensive as hell. Then I find a TSB saying not to run premium in engines designed for 87 octane. It can cause driveability issues. WOW!! Just goes to prove that the people responsible for fixing your vehicle don't know their *** from a hole in the ground.

I have yet to find a dealer that is worth a damn.
