seatbelt warning light

Default seatbelt warning light

my seatbelt warning light stays on? i tried hookin up every belt and it just stays on? 99 dodge ram 1500

grab the factory service manual from the faq section here, (its for an 01, but, for this effort, should work fine.) Have a look in there, and check out the wiring diagrams. probably just one of the belts isn't getting the proper electrical connection.

If it's the same as my '01, look under the drivers seat. Should be a harness for the seatbelt. It's 2 wires. Try unhooking the harness and jumping the wires together and see if it goes out. If so, it's the sensor/switch in the female part of the seatbelt.

Mine would come on while driving and if I wiggled it, it would go out, but come back on. I jumped the wires, taped it up, and haven't had a problem with it since.

All it does is make the computer think the seatbelt is connected.

Hmm. I gotta try this. I have the same problem in my 02... THAT I JUST BOUGHT AND THEY WON'T FIX. I'll definitely be trying this tomorrow.
