belt problems
i have a 1996 dodge ram 1500, which i loved until this loud annoying squeling begin. i pulled the belt off and replaced the belt, but after about two weeks it began again, so i replaced the tensioner pulley but not the arm. my grandpa told me to put soap on it and it worked for about a day. when i pulled belt off i cleaned all the pullys and check to see if any had free spin, none except the one holding the fan that touches the back of the belt, also when its idling i can see the tensioner arm moving just a little bit, i check it to make sure it was not binding but seemed to have full motion. what next? i need some help befor ei lose it and take it to bigotires to have fixed
also when i mentioned the tensioner arm slightly moving it is very small, im not sure i am not over reacting about that. alright well today ill go buy some pads and replace the belt (with warranty) replace the tensioner arm, adn scuff the pullys. ill get back once all that is done.
