Default Axle swap

I'm searching for set of axles off an 2500 to put on my 95 1500. I thought 94-01 are the years that I can use easily. A friend told me that in 99 they change something. Can anyone tell me if the 2500 axles from a 94-01 2500 will fit my truck.

I'm located in eastern canada and the dana 60's are going for around $800. If anyone knows where I can get them cheaper please speak up.
Thanks

In the earlier years, they offered a light duty 3/4 ton, that used narrower springs. the HD versions the leafs are 3" wide, so, you will need spring hangers for the rear as well. Front will bolt right in.

Might be some differences in driveshaft length.... not sure on that. grab the transfer case and shafts as well, if the donor is the same body style/bed length as yours.

Couple members here have done this swap, and another is working on it.

There are a couple of differences you should know about. The first is that in 2000 Mopar went to a bigger diameter bolt in the bushings. Not a biggie.
The second is a bit more important. Earlier D-60 fronts used a king pin style hubs and smaller axles, actually the same size as your 1500 d-44. I think in 99 they went to a larger axle and spline. In 2002 the 2500 trucks eliminated the CAD assembly. The brakes on 2000 up axles are improved dual piston calipers, so try to get a complete axle. Your brake hoses bolt on.

The information about the rear springs has been covered. I also suggest (not to be a jerk) that is a bunch information on this in this forum. I listed all the front axle information myself several months ago. If you use the search function you'll find just about all you need
