Default Rear bumper interchange?

It looks like any '88 and newer GM and any '94and newer Dodge rear bumper would work with some tweaking of the brackets. What have any o you done?

Well, of course a 94-02 Ram bumper will work on a 94-02 Ram!

Well the reason for asking is that around here there are no gen2 bumpers that aren't rust piles. The GM bumpers have faired better as have the gen3 units.

I checked on the peeling chrome today and my finger went through the bumper, so no core.

I find it unusual with all the rust problems the 2nd gen rear bumpers have that nobody got the old hot rod spirit and figured it out. We use do bumper swaps on trucks 30-40 years ago, I guess I'll do it again if I can't find a good one.

I've got the old hot rod spirit and am going to adapt a 09-11 Ram bumper on mine if I can find a used one at a good price.
