Soaking lifters in oil is a debated topic. For rockers, gotta get 'em lubed up before installation.

NON-ADJUSTABLE.. and soaking or non-soaking they are in and i have no noise i have power everything seems alright just oil preasure goes up and down. it did it before but slightly from 40 and alittle lower it just does it farther down and doesnt come back up to 40 and hold! could it be my oil pump? it does have 209,000 miles on motor!

With that kind of mileage, it very well could be the pump, or, the pickup may just be clogged with crap. Either way, if it makes you paranoid (like it would me.....) dropping the pan and replacing the pump is not that much of an exercise. I did it in my driveway (in barely above freezing temps) in about two hours. I installed a high volume pump, and now have 60PSI at idle with the engine fully warmed (as read on a mechanical gauge). Of course, my in-dash gauge barely makes it over 40........ My truck has 165K on the clock.

Could also be the sending unit lying to you. Screw in a cheap mechanical gauge, and see what it has to say.

he said my engine was real clean when he was installing them he was actually suprised for 209,000 miles. i have the old roller rockers they are pretty clean some are alittle black the others look real good. ive used seafoam on the truck for about 6000-7000 miles 2 oil changes.

>>>>>>>>> damn i type slow<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

you could drop the oil pan,(new gasket 30 bucks) and see whats going on, most likly you have little bit and gunk on your sceen on you pick up tube for your oil pump

oil pan gasket 30bucks

new oil pump 25 bucks

and new rear main seal because you right there and it may be leaking 17bucks i think?

i just droped my pan @ 76,000 it all kinds of little gunk on the pick screen,,, repalced the oil pump and rear main

i think i would be a good idea to drop the pan with 200,000 miles

back to the rockers, the only problem you may have with those miles is valve float, but i dont think you would with the bumo in lift the 1.7 ratio rockers give you, but it could

hope i helped,,, and sorry if im making you feel and i just gave you more work to do

It had rollers in it previously? Full roller, or just roller tip?
