Default lift spindles

hey guys im thinkin about liftin my 99 2wd with 3 inch spindles and a 3inch body lift. Ive heard you have to get new wheels with the spindles but ive seen people with spindles and stock rims is it a must have or just something you should get? im just lookin to run a 285/75/16 tire and id like to have the stock rim. also would that amount of lift put me at the stock 4x4 height?

What size tire you running? - you say you have to the 17" rims, but your running 315/75 16?

yes you will need 17in+ size rims to clear the upper ball joint

ok but you may be in luck because in about 99 the 2wd spindles changed to a one piece wheel bearing, and they dont have a spindle nut stickin out 2.5in's

so that means of have more rims that you can use, like 17in rims off 3rd gens or dodge off road edt rims,...ect

so it may just cost other 100 buck + -, to pick up a used set of rims

alot of spindle's say use OEM off set,

im running the fabtech lift spindles and upper arms with 16 inch wheels, the backspacing on the wheel has to be different from stock to clear everything

you could run 16in wheels with a diff backspacing but alot of the spindles i have seem say to run a OEM back spacing so they dont break

but the is a truck on here with lift spindles,,, Doetsch Tech like 3.5in and he runing like a 16in soft 8 wheels and not problems yet,,, i just wouldnt want to risk it

you are going to need new rims both ways

It depends on the brand of the spindles, most of them will only work with 17in rims, but when I was looking a couple places said they will work with factory rims, best bet is to start calling around, ebay had a couple for sale

WTF? No, get out now.

This truck that I bought rides on modified Doetsch 3.5 inch spindles. The modification made to them has no bearing on wheel size or dimensions. I clear a 33x12.5, 16" 5x5.5 wheel with 4.5 in backspacing with very minor rub at full lock.

You don't have to have 17 inch wheels.
