Default wiper fuse keeps blowing

ok today i started my truck let it run for about half hour to melt snow. 7 inches of it... then i went out and scrapped windows and went to take off... well i guess the -4 degrees froze my wipers to windows. so i made it to work and no wipers i looked and fuse was blown... now my wiper fuse keeps blowing i put a 35 amp in there and it pops as soon as you hit the wipers? what to look at

If the arms are free of the windshield.... start looking for a short. Not sure how much difference there is between the 94's, and the 01's...... probably quite a bit...... not sure the manual online here is gonna help much.

i'm pretty sure the wiper fuse is only 25 amp. Always use the correct fuse or you could have a wire fire. I would start at the wiper motor, put a vlot meter on the terminals and have someone turn the wipers on and see what you are getting for amps. I believe the wipers run through the multifuntion switch in your steering colum.

I would be more tempted to disconnect the wiper motor, replace the fuse, and then turn on the wipers, and see if the fuse still blows.

For what it's worth, had the same exact problem a month ago. The oem wiper motor itself had a short in it. Replaced it, everything is fine.

i like your way of thinking. i never had any problems with it up until today is there a chance i melted a wire or something in the motor causing it to short itself out now. cause it was trying to run the whole time i was driving to work?
