3.9 Here..
Yes,i know, "OMG it isnt a V8". This truck has suited me fine as my DD and I'm loving the MPG as well, but here is my question. IS there anything I can do other than an engine swap to get more power out of it. Ive looked around a few places...JCWhitney etc, but it seems that no one really carries anything for a 3.9 motor. Does anybody own/worked on a 3.9 and has modded it out any,if so any comments/advice is taken with gratitude.
Don't buy internal engine parts from JCWhitney. They are the Wall-Mart of auto parts. (if that good.....)
Basically, make sure everything is up to snuff, including the plenum..... If you end up doing your plenum, might consider doing the kegger mod as well. That will net you a little bit of power. Freer flowing air cleaner too....
Some exhaust work wouldn't hurt, if the sixes are the same as the eights, the y pipe is rather restrictive...... might pick up a bit there.
Not sure if anyone makes cams for the six.......
Supercharger?
