Default oil pressure problem.. not to common

Ok.guys, changed my intake, new plenum, kegger mod, all back together.. now I lost all oil pressure, put a new oil pump in it, idles fine.. had pressure, went down the road..

Hit overdrive, lost oil pressure...kick it back out of od, pressure comes back, now got home, let it sit and idle, gauge shows zero pressure, but the motor dpesnt tick after about 30 mins runnin,

I go out, bring the rpms to about 1900ish and above, I get pressure back, let it idle down again.. loss pressure.

im going to guess the oil sensing unit. when you loose pressure does your engine start to knock or run seemingly normal?

It's probably the sender. Almost certainly the sender. Running half an hour on zero oil pressure would take out even one of these engines.

PCM only interprets pressure to be within set values at varying engine speed... i beleive, having said that- oil pressure is not always as it appears on the OEM gauge.

more than likely has b/w 0 and 6 psi, 6 psi being the minimum recognizable pressure before the dash reads 0. my guess is clearances have increased over the years, but as long as you have good flow, its all good

Make sure you didn't damage the sending unit or knock the plug loose while you were doing the other work.
