the other day i took my rotors off to have them machined, while the front was in the air i turned the wheels to either side to gain easier access to the caliper bolts, when i did this i heard a gurgling sound and power steering fluid was pushed out of the top of the pump. what could cause this?

 

was the system overfull to begin with?

 

You turning the wheels side to side! Nothing wrong with it.

 

nope not overfull cap was tight. still drives fine it was just weird i'd never seen it before.

 

You are making back/opposite pressure by turning the wheels with the motor not running. Completely normal. Just make sure it is still full now.
