Cool! Unfortunately I don't have a stock PCM. The truck came with this mopar pcm already installed. Think it would still pass with mopar pcm? She's all tuned up and running like a swiss watch at the moment. knock on wood. Did you think the performance increase with the manifold was worth the greenbacks?

I think so. Never have to worry about the plenum either. Never realized your truck was a 5 speed, cool A stock 94-95 PCM probably isn't too hard to find, an auto PCM works just fine. Probably unnecessary though, shouldn't be a problem passing emissions.

Appreciate the info man. I swear if I could get like 10-15 more ponies out of this thing I'd be in the promised land. Considering I'd be installing intake manifold and HS1.7's together as soon as warranty goes dead I think I might just make it.

My pops Grand Caravans went through so many trannies it's ridiculous and so I would not have bought the truck with one. Turns out it was a good move.

Would the same also be true of mopar pcm with Airgap plus aformentioned support mods on obd1 triuck?

Just what level of mods are we talking in order to not lose low end? Keep in mind I've been told I can't really do things llike re camming to even a mildly different profile without a computer retune. For example would I lose low end if the extent of my planned mods were the m1 + some HS1.7:1 roller rockers, free flowing exhaust and the mopar pcm?

I know of one local truck that is using the mopar perf pcm in a 95 and he has a cam, 1.6 rrs, M1 all kinds of parts and his truck hauls bigg time and he has no issues with it what so ever.
I have never had to send my pcm out for tuning nor would I, I protect it like gold.
I live in the mountains and if I was to see a loss in low end torque like I had read about the m1 would be for sale.
I can’t answer all your questions about obd1 and mods, but I can tell you that the Mopar performance pcm has never had any issues with any of my mods and to tell you the truth I love it. My truck is running spot on for fuel mixture, I can’t speak about how it will do in a sniffer test but this is what is posted. Know it says not to tow but I used tow a 28’ 5000 lb 5th wheel and I still tow sleds and smaller boats without any problems as long as you have good gas. Just about all my mods are in my sig, not listed are heads and BBK TB and 3.92 gears, I have had my performance pcm in the truck since it was drove off the lot in 96. If I was to do an M1 install on an obd1 truck, Mopar performance pcm, free flowing exhaust, mild cam or 1.7 r/rs. I think if you did these mods you would have a new found love for your truck.
Note: Emissions exempt in California, Massachusetts and New York only. Requires the use of premium unleaded fuels (92 octane or better).
Not recommended for towing applications.

Sweet! This is some good news fellas. BTW thanks for sharing!

About cams. I guess it was the KRC guy scariing me off when I called them and was talking about their 206 cam. The guy was saying it wouldn't run right without a custom tune. Maybe I just need a OBD1/mopar pcm friendly cam upgrade? What cams would be good for this considering the sniffer? Maybe one of the mopar cams? One guy was talking me out of one as being too mild but it may be all I'm after.

Maybe when I'm hauling a big load I'll just throw 5-10 gallons of av gas in there. shh Hell I should probably just do that anyway.

Where would I find that kit for the erg?

Check on summit, or jegs, or any other of the larger performance parts websites. They tend to be a bit obscure, so, a phone call might be a better bet. Keep in mind, you will more than likely have to drill holes in your 600 dollar manifold to make it work.....

I'm really thinking about just replacing the plenum. The air gap don't seem worth the troubles for my old truck. I can't believe no one has put one on a obd1?

The hell with that, get a Hughes plenum plate (do the kegger mod if you so choose), and get a Fastman TB, SC or SCT tuner and call it a day.
