Default Headlights

Ok guys I have another puzzle for you. My 95 ram has aftermarket projectors on it( they were there when I bought it)but my bright indacater stays on ( low beams or brights). When I have the what I assume is the low beams (only the projector lights up) they work good nice and bright. But when I switch to highs the projector and the bulb on the inside light up but there very dim, dim enough where you can't see to drive. I unhooked one of the inside bulbs (pass.) and the other inside bulb (drivers) get brighter but both projectors get very dim almost off.

What in the heck could this be, or where should I start looking??

Thanks
Richard

Put regular headlights back in. Projectors are terrible.

I had the same problem, make sure your HI and LO beams are in the right plug, the sockets are the same but bulbs are different, that was my easy fix

ok heres the deal
1. unplug headlights
2. with factory plug in hand...the one connected to truck
3. pop the little black plastic clip connected to backside of connecter off
4. Now looking at front of plug, you see the three little slots, take a pick and pry under the connectors for the black and purple wires
5. If done right they should pull out of connector fairly easy
6. swap the purple and black wires and push them back into slots
7. take pick and pry the connectors back so they lock in
8. put black clip back on
9. plug back into headlight
10. turn headlights on

This should fix your problem, Dont mess with the red wire it stays were its at

And whats wrong with projectors, I love mine, and other drivers appreciate the fact that they are not blinding, if they are good enough for BMW and other luxury cars, they are good enough for my 96 dodge

I doubt he was making a crack at projectors in general, just the Chinese made knock-offs that they make for aftermarket setups, like the ones for our Rams. Some work well, some don't.

Exactly. Kind of like HID's. If they weren't built into the headlight assembly from the get go they aren't gonna do you any good. Had some 6k's in my truck and hated them. No beam pattern and didn't get nearly the distance my silverstar ultra's had. But that is just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. They are like as*holes, everyones got one and they all stink.
