I bought a lift kit from rough country about a week ago, asked about the pre 2/7/94 track bar issues etc. and they said it would fit my truck just fine. Now I have a problem the track bar bracket sent to me has a bigger taper for the track bar connection, and the bracket connection point to the original location is bigger than the stock mounting hole. Wanted to know if I bought a post 2/7/94 track bar and hollowed out the mounting bracket would this all work on my truck and lift. Would love to hear good things because the rough country said they had no clue about the pre problems and I need to send pictures etc to prove my case.... ?

 

I would send them pics, and see what they had to say. The holes are tapered, so, just drilling them out ain't gonna work. As the track bar is a rather integral part of your front suspension..... you wanna be REAL sure that its 'right'.

 

Yes that is what im going to do is send pics, the tapered part i wasnt going to drill, i was wanting to drill the old mounting hole which can be straight for the bracket, the part that I was wondering on my truck vs. post 2/7/94's was if the taper on the bar itself just bigger and the way it connects and length were the same?

 

The track bar is different pre 2/7/94. Get that track bar and it will fit right in.
