Thanks Mad Scientist. On the pic with anti foulers it appears you are running two on there. One wasn't doing the trick? I'm gonna try and get under there today but it is my daughter's birthday today.

Spend time with your daughter then. She is more important.

One non-fouler isn't quite deep enough, unless drilled very carefully. That is why folks use two.

+1 on spending time w/ your daughter.

And yes 2 non-foulers are necessary for the reason stated above. You will have to drill out one of them with a 1/2 inch drillbit.

Are you gutting your cat? This is the only reason to use this trick.

I gotta investigate how to gut the cat. I see on one site they have new Walker, Bosal and EASTERN CATALYTIC CONVERTERS brand cats from 120 to 230 plus s&h. Strange thing is when I get info on one of them it says it fits 06 and up, even though I'm in the 05 section.

Please except my apologies for continually posting in the RAM section reagrding our van 3.8 ltr. 05 grand caravan with stow n go but there is good advice and knowledge here. I looked for the o2 sensors yesterday. I was expecting to find one before and after the CAT. The only one I found was sticking out of the top of the CAT. It is located right in the middle of the length of it. Going by my old Haynes manual (that goes up to 2002) and speaking with a vendor from this site today it is verified there should be a o2 sensor before the CAT as well. The one in the CAT is the 'after CAT'. I guess I'll look harder for the 'before' CAT. Seems strange that they would put one in on only one bank of the engine. The flange and Y coupler are right in front of the CAT so it appears as though that must be what they have done. Also, just so I'm straight on what all is in the exhaust system, please advise on what these things are pictured below. They are pictured in order from engine to tailpipe. Thanks.

I have the same exact code just cleared it today, comes on about every 3 weeks and then i clear it, my plenum is leaking so it cloggs the cat and messes up the o2 sensors so im not replacing the o2's and cat till i get my plenum fixed...no point in ruining new parts. hope this helps.

Thanks, but these guys don't think I have a plenum in this van. It does 'use' oil between oil changes. No smoke and no leaks but the pan gasket seaps some but not enough to account for as much oil as it uses at least 3 qrts between a 5000 mile oil change. It still seems to have plenty of power. IIRC it has about 126545k on it now and I use 10w40 pure sythetic when I can find it or 10w30. I know thats a little thin for these higher miles but its always on sale. I hate spending $50 for an oil change when I do it myself. Thoughts???

First one's the cat, second one looks to be a gas tank, third is muffler. That seems to be an odd placement for your post cat o2. Looks like it'd be to far upwind to get an accurate reading... but then I'm not a dodge engineer (who knows what they're thinking). Pre cat o2 shouldn't be that hard to find for verification, follow the exhaust all the way from your headers to the tail pipe. First one you find is pre cat, second is post... that is unless you're set up for cali emissions, in which case there are 4

That gas tank looking thing is in the exhaust system. The tank on this is plastic on on the other side of the van. I've had it out before replacing the fuel pump. Another guy posted a diagram of where the 1st o2 is located. It's on top of the collector where the two manifolds come together; about 12" in front of the 2nd o2 sensor.

You would get more accurate info if you posted in the correct section to begin with you know.
