Default 32.7" (265 75 16) a good tire size for a lifted truck?

I have 35s and it looks great, but the ride quality and cost to replace are terrible, not to mention it drives like a dog. I threw the stockers back on (which are pretty bald), and it drives extremely well, very smooth, but I literally laugh at it because it looks extremely goofy.

It's a long bed with a 3" lift, 4x4, 3.55 rear

So I talked to Tire Discounters and came to the conclusion that I can go with some 33s on my 15" offroad wheels, or some 267 75 16s on my 16" stock chrome wheels. He said they would be 32.7", which is about half way between the stock size, and my 35s.

I've been reading the forums and it looks like 35 is really the max for the 3.55, and 33 is recommended- thats why I was thinking the 32.7 on the stock wheels.

Think thats a good balance between looks, performance, price, and comfort? or do I really want to stick with 35s?

265 75 16 will have an outer diameter between 31" and 32"

If you are dropping down from 35's, I would go with 33's. 285/75/16 though instead of 265's, they are 32.8" while the 265's are only 31.6". I have 285's on mine and they are a nice size for these trucks if you're not goin with big ol mud tires or something...

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html this is where I get all my tire size info, handy little tool to have around...

another size calculator, but this one lets you compare several different sizes at once

Alright, so just called a few places- 285s are $800-1200, while the 265s are 600-700. I might just settle for 31.X

Is it worth approx $400 for 1"?

what about ,,, 255/85/16? you would get a tall tire, but they were about the wide as the 265/75/16, but taller

285 is a good size, saw a lil bit of drop in mpg from my 265 though, not major maybe 1 or 1.5mpg . i got the retreads at tredwright.com i would look those up, they are good and have actually worn a lot better than my actual BFGs that i had 4 years ago.
