Welcome to DF...
Under my shifter boot is a plastic tray with the shifter pivot. Nothing more. Your check valve is more likely to be on the firewall or under the truck, but I'd bet firewall.
i have a question. so you're laying on your back and reaching pretty much blind up on top of the t-case where there's no room to see or work. how do you know which one of those ****ing 4 vacuum connectors is which?
I think he's talking about this, and removing the boot is not going to make it any easier.
I'm confused...that looks more like a switch than a check valve. When something pushes in the nipple on the left it allows vacum though those hoses...right?
Just where the heck is that thing on the t-case? Is it on the shifter? Cuz I'd like to know.
its a vacuum switch, not a check valve.
its screwed into the top of the tcase.
when something? internal to the tcase depresses the ball on the left, it switches the vacuum from the 2wd port to the 4wd port.
another line is the input vac.
i don't know what the 4th line is.
Understood, and thanks!
I thought the OP asked about a check valve in his original post and I was fairly certain I had traced my vacum lines once for another project and found my check valve in a mass of plastic hoses near the firewall.

The 4 vac lines go into a rubber boot/plug that only goes on one way.
