Look into the Timbren overload kit. It's rubber blocks that go in place of your front bump stops.Have them on my 97 1500 with a 7.5 Meyer. They sit about an inch above the axle without the plow on so your ride is the same when not plowing. With the weight of the plow the bag rests on the axle and takes the plows weight instead of the coils. And it still rides good travelling with the plow up.
Real easy install, pop out sock bumpstop and press in the timbren.

Yeah, you are right about the front end parts, even WITHOUT a plow. Add one into the mix and shet really wears out fast
