just gave my local dodge dealer the vin and he said it had 195mm front (dana 44) and 200mm rear which from what the internet says is a dana 70?? never heard of a dana 70.
It has 4.10 gears with anti spin and power disc drum on rear.
Guess that means the $65 ball joints will work!
Awesomeness...

3/4 tons with the 8800 pound GVWR have dana 60 in front, and also in back IF it is a v-8 engine, diesels, and v-10s got the 70, or 80.

Look on the door sticker in the drivers side doorframe. Will give GVWR there right at the top of the sticker.

That's good as far as cheaper front end parts go, but, it actually sucks. It's still a 44 on a 2500.

very true but for what I use it for it's sufficient.
I wouldn't put a plow on it for sure.

I'll double check the door. I'm pretty sure it say 8800 GVWR.
That really confuses me cause the dealer said 195mm and I did an internet search and 195's seem to be associated with dana 44 from what I can tell.
200mm rear means that the front and rear are different right? so that would mean I've got dana 70 on rear and 60 on front??? I'm so confused.
The dealer said they had no idea on the axles except for 195mm front and 200mm rear. someone please translate to dana!!!!
thanks,

As far as I know, a 98 1500 with a 44 is 216mm and a 2000 2500 with a 60 is 248mm. Talking front axle here.

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...661-axles.html

Whats weird is you say you have 8 lug on the front, that should be a Dana 60
8800 should be a HD which should be D60.
Maybe someone changed the front axle, look for the # on the front differential

Moog, moog, and more moog. Those are the best ball joints around.
