Default 14x3 ?

Hey guys quick question.... Im looking at getting a 14x3,question is does having the lid as a filter help these trucks at all or just make it look pretty like this http://compare.ebay.com/like/1206789...=263602_304662

With the filter lid, better make sure your cowl/hood weatherstripping is in great shape, otherwise any water that comes in there will drip right into your filter. Same reason I don't recommend the Edelbrock ProFlow triangle foam filter. One of the drawbacks of having the air cleaner tucked under the cowl the way it is.

The second one is not a 14x3, but it is the one I run. I like it.

I use the paper filter in my Mopar air cleaner. Works great, filters much better then the K&N, and still allows for the ample airflow.

I would never run any open air filter without that weather stripping. The LMC strip is really good, it grips tight without glue.

I have the K&N lid on mine. It is coming off as soon as i get the truck back from the trans shop. We had a terrible blizzard tuesday and i had over an inch of snow on my entire engine. including on the air filter lid. the snow was melting and dripping into the throttle body i assume causing most of my stumble that night..
